Job Requirements

Expertise in High-Volume Transaction Processing
• Design, develop, and optimize high-throughput billing systems capable of processing millions of transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure ACID compliance, fault tolerance, and integrity in financial transactions across distributed databases.
• Implement event-driven architectures and real-time processing pipelines to handle invoice generation, payment reconciliation, and subscription lifecycle events.
Strong Distributed Systems & Scalability Experience
• Architect and scale highly available, distributed billing services to support growing customer demand across global markets.
• Optimize horizontal scaling strategies, database partitioning (sharding), and caching mechanisms (Redis, Memcached) to minimize latency and improve system performance.
• Design resilient systems with fault tolerance, retry mechanisms, and eventual consistency to handle network failures and transaction rollbacks.

Deep Understanding of Billing, Payments, and Revenue Recognition

• Develop and maintain subscription billing, metered usage-based pricing, and one-time payment capabilities in compliance with financial regulations.

• Integrate with payment processors (Stripe, Adyen, PayPal, etc.) and financial systems to ensure seamless payment flows and revenue tracking.

• Collaborate with finance and product teams to implement revenue recognition policies (ASC 606/IFRS 15) and tax handling across multiple geographies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and architect multi-tenancy SAAS application with shared-nothing architecture based on spring boot framework, develop and architect scalable and reliable application which will leverage micro service architecture includes API gateway, service registry, service monitoring etc.
• Work with other global team members and management to complement and complete the development process;
• Oversee the design, scoping, implementation, and testing of new features end-to-end;
• Drive technical excellence and implementation of best engineering practices such as design review, continuous integration and code review;
• Create and maintain an open and transparent environment that values speed, innovation and quality;
• Provide architecture and technical guidance for the software development team;
• Stays current with relevant technologies, applying them to Nue’s SaaS applications as appropriate;
• Helps define the standards and guidelines for the definition and development of Nue’s applications, components and services;
• Deliver world class, high quality design and code using the latest development tools and frameworks. Uses agile methodologies including TDD, CI, Refactoring and Code Reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong portfolio or examples of past projects and code

Required Skills

• 5+ years of software development, design, and implementation experience in the finance, billing, and/or subscription software industry, specifically using multiple shard database architecture.
• 5+ years of experience with application performance profiling and tuning.
• Proficiency in Java, NodeJS, Databases
• Preferred experience with AWS
• Preferred experience with the Salesforce Platform.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript and its frameworks.
• Enthusiasm for programming, coding, and keeping up with emerging technologies.
• Problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn and adapt.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• A passion for working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
