  • You want to be an individual contributor, designing and implementing cutting-edge engineering approaches.
  • You’re interested in enterprise technology applications architecture, design, development, and maintenance, with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and security.
  • You excel in a collaborative environment, supported by a strong team of design and engineering resources.
  • You are ready to collaborate with teams across the organization to ensure that our users' needs are being met.
  • You have good communication skills, which enable you to interface effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • You know how to prioritize and deliver multiple tasks or assignments on time.
  • You bring problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to our dynamic startup environment.
  • You are passionate about our mission to close equity gaps and create fairness in the workplace.

Required Skills

  • Experience building reliable, performant, and maintainable backend systems
  • Strong skills in backend development with proficiency in Go (proficiency with additional modern programming languages, especially Python, is a plus)
  • Proficient in designing and implementing asynchronous workflows (experience with tools like Apache Airflow, Temporal, or Google Cloud Run for workflow orchestration is a plus)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in architecting applications on cloud platforms (we use Google Cloud Platform)
  • Proficient with data model and schema design and technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and Cloud PubSub
  • Demonstrated ability to discuss and weigh trade-offs across API boundaries with resource usage and scalability in mind
  • Familiarity with unit and integration testing methodologies
  • Effective communication capabilities for interacting with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment

Extra Credit

  • Experience with using Docker to containerize and run applications, as well as interacting with Kubernetes clusters

You'll set up and service your development environment and be able to run the entire app and critical workflows locally. You'll also start handling tickets and small feature requests.
  2. Within 3 Months, you'll deepen your understanding of user pain points and start to form an opinion on potential improvements in the codebase. Share these insights with the Engineering Manager. Expect an increasing workload and start providing more input on building complex features.
  3. Within 6 Months, you’ll be fully ramped up and working at capacity! You'll collaborate with other engineers to design, execute, and break down tasks for yourself and others.
